Fitzroy Island National Park and its surrounding waters form part of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. This densely forested island offers bushwalking as well as swimming and snorkelling. The island rises to 269 metres, offering grand vistas from almost any vantage point. In winter (June to August), watch from the lighthouse for humpback whales.
